This is where we share our ideas for the park - and we’d like your ideas too!

At the moment we are focussing on refurbishment of the under 5s play area at the Berrylands end of the park. To register your support (we need 100 supporters) please scroll down to the foot of the page and leave your details.

Our 3 phase development plan includes:

  • -          new play equipment and surfacing. We’d like a new car, slide and climbing tower, new swings and a roundabout

  • -          benches where park visitors can watch the children play and chat to each other

  • -          new fencing

  • -          a woodland trail with timber log walks and balance beams

  • - we’d also like to see raised beds for planting projects with local primary schools and the Family and Children’s Centre.

Other ideas include activities to mark events such as Bee Day, Earth Day, National Birdwatch, night time bat walks, tree spotting trails and interpretation boards about the park’s history.

Families told us:

“Definitely refurbish the playground. My children grew up playing on the roundabout and climbing frame 10 years ago.”

“Our under 5s need…a safe play area , make social contacts and enjoy being outside in the fresh air.”

“The playground is very much needed as there is no other nearby play area for the people living on this side of Goddington Park. The one on the other side is too far away for young children.

“It would be great to breathe new life into this playground.”

We know our vision will take a lot of time and effort to make a reality. We’ll be applying for grants as well as fundraising. We’ll be relying on a lot of volunteer help and expertise too. If you would like to help then please join us! and if you have other ideas you would like to see happen in the park, then please tell us about them at the foot of this page.

This is how the playground area could look:
